My first DJing event was a wedding in October 1993. The groom loaned me some equipment, and I have been going ever since. I added karaoke in January of 2000. I have not converted to a computer set-up, and I still carry the CD disc which gives me access to a selection of music that I have been collecting for over 17 years. I have over 200 greatest hits CDs and over 1,335 CDs in total. I am always adding to my CD collection, and I add 30 new karaoke songs every month. With such a large collection, I always have plenty of songs to choose from.
I have never been the DJ who takes the money and runs. I think of myself as the working man's DJ. I'm never going to be rich, so I may as well just have fun with it. I only use professional, high-quality sound equipment and dance floor lights.
I started bringing the crazy hats I have, and I wear them when DJing. I just found a new website to buy from, and I now have about 60 hats in total. My tote is over flowing, so I now bring a bag with me too.
